Steve Ferguson

Steve Ferguson, Ph.D., is a managing director with Endeavor Management, a management consulting firm. Steve has been an entrepreneur, corporate executive, banker, and university professor. Steve served on the board of directors for Compass Bank. He has also served on boards of directors for a number of community organizations. He is elder at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. Steve earned a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and a B.A. from The Citadel.

Kathy Hunt

Kathy Hunt was a Special Education and Social Studies teacher with the Spring Branch Independent School District for ten years. Prior to 1997 she had 23 years experience in commercial banking with First National Bank of Chicago, Bank of the Southwest Houston, Republicbank Houston, Interfirst Bank Fannin, and MetroBank Houston. She received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1976. She is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, holds a Series 63 Securities License and a Masters degree in Education from Rice University.

Paul McElroy

Chairman of The Board of Directors of RDM Inc dba Lupe Tortilla Restaurants. Education at University of St. Thomas, Houston Baptist University, and Rice University, Center for Executive Development. From 1974 to 1986 Paul was with Southern Tennis Centers, Inc. as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Westside Tennis Club in Houston, Texas. In 1987 he became a managing principal in the Mason Jar Restaurant, Houston, Texas. In 1991 he was co-founder and managing principal of the Saltgrass Steak Houses located in the Houston area up until the sale of his interest in 1995. Paul joined Lupe Tortillas organization as President in 1997. Paul worships at Pines Presbyterian Church in Houston.

Gary Olander

Executive-Vice President and Texas Regional President for Whitney National Bank.  Have been a commercial banker in Houston since graduating from the University of Texas in 1974.  Former member of MDPC and currently an active member of Chapelwood Methodist Church.  I am active or have previously held board positions with Rebuilding Together-Houston, the Holocaust Museum-Houston, and Presbyterian Synod of the Sun Foundation.

John Van Osdall

John retired from a career in the insurance business. He was Chairman, C.E.O., President, Anco/The Anderson Company and as Senior Vice President Property & Casualty, USI Insurance Services, Corp. San Francisco, CA.  John served as Chairman of The Counsel of Insurance Agents and Brokers, Washington, D.C. He is an Elder of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.  He is a B.B.A. graduate of The University of Texas.

Evelyn Velasquez

Evelyn V. Velasquez works for Houston Community College in the Katy and Spring Branch communities as the director of public relations, marketing, and community outreach. She has worked for Memorial Hermann Hospital, Interfaith Ministries, and as president of Leadership Houston. She has 24-years nonprofit management experience and holds a BS in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and an MBA/MKG from the University of Phoenix. Evelyn is a graduate of the West Houston Leadership Institute Class VI and serves on the Altharetta Yeargin Art Museum Board; WHLI Advisory Council; FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association; and Association of Women Administrators.

Robert Westheimer

Robert Westheimer is the founder and Chairman of Newspring.  His professional career included 28 years in the consulting practices of Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as a Partner and Practice Director in the Business Consulting practice.  Robert retired from Arthur Andersen in 2002 and also retired as a CPA in the State of Texas.  He has been a member of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church since 1970 and is active in Presbyterian Cursillo.  Robert is married to LaNoe and they have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Hugh Wilfong

Hugh Wilfong is a member of the Newspring Board of Directors.  His professional career included 26 years in law practice with Vinson & Elkins and 15 years as the leader of two nonprofit corporations affiliated with The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church where he serves on its Board of Stewards, its Staff Parish Relations Committee, and its Hispanic Ministry Core Team.  Hugh also serves on the board of the Spring Branch Family Development Center. He is married to Nancy; they have four children and eight grandchildren.
