Spring 2011 - Art Studo Wish List

•Items for MOSAICS

• Colored glass pebbles - Sold in plastic mesh sacks in their floral/plant section of places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

• One-step sticky grout – sold @ Home Depot in a bucket for about $8 ideal of mosaic art.

•Other items we could use for our MOSAIC classes:

• "tile-cutting" tools, beads, jewelry parts, single earrings, metal parts, crosses, buttons, marbles, sea glass with soft edges, broken tiles or whole tiles, dishes, cups & saucers, and pottery we can easily break apart at the studio into tiles for mosaics. Dinnerware, solid and patterns (china, stoneware, ceramics), etc!

•Scraps of wood and panels of wood we can cut.

We would also love any wood that has already been precut into shapes (hearts, letters, numbers, etc).

•Clay Pots

•Potters/Ceramic Clay

This clay can be all dried up - we'll take it! We don't need brand new clay straight out of the bag. Clay from the earth, the natural clay that ceramists and potters use, never goes bad, can be soaked with water and restored! Otherwise locally, it is sold at the Ceramics Store, Houston.

•Rolling pins or thick dowels that can be used as rolling pins.

Otherwise - Any & All Brands Appreciated that can be found at Hobby Lobby, Michaels. Colors Needed Sold as Individual Tubes: Cadmium Red, Cadmium Orange, Crimson, Cobalt Blue, Payne’s Gray, Prussian Blue, Processs Cyan, Cerulean Blue, Phthalo Blue, Hooker’s Green, Thalo or Yellow Green, Sap Green, Red Orange or Vermillion, Yellow Ocre, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Siena, Raw Siena, Raw Umber, black, Large tubes of White & Metallic Acrylics. Basic Colors sold in 16 oz. & 32 oz.: White, Black, and any shades of reds, yellows, blues, greens, oranges, violets and browns.

•While at hardware store…see Masonite Board in Lumber Section (Lowes, Home Depot) A store employee will cut the board to standard size 12” x 18”, 18 x 24” (any size to fit standard frame sizes)…Or, bring whole sheet and we will cut our own. For Drawing Boards, Painting Boards, Painting Surfaces.
