Christmas in the Park

Thank you to all that came and lived out the Christmas Story, making Christmas in the Park a huge success! With a Live Reenactment and Nativity, FREE Camel Rides, Petting Zoo, Art Activities and much more, Christmas in the Park catered to the young as well as the young at heart!





Crosspoint Community Church Grand Opening

Crosspoint Community Church opened their Spring Branch location and had 227 people in attendance! Newspring looks forward to future partnerships and ventures with Crosspoint Community Church to help an under-privileged student realize their career potential!

Meaningful Mosaics with Laura Sprague

Meaningful Mosaics was led by Art Instructor Laura Sprague. The workshop was started with an explanation of what the mosaics symbolizes about our relationship with Christ and are designed to make excellent Christmas gifts.


 

Art Studio Open House

Parents, students, and Scouts were invited to join us at our Art Studio for a demonstration of the different activities and merit badge opportunities that the studio has to offer to artists of all levels, beginner to advanced!

"Fix Your Follow-Up" Spring Branch Business Forum with Guest Speaker, Jack Barry IV

This Spring Branch Business Forum was a gathering of local business owners who come together to network, and learn about topics that will help their business. Jack Barry IV's presentation was, "Fix Your Follow-Up" followed by time for business owners to network.




Our Lady of Czestochowa Polish Dożynki (Harvest) Festival

The Dożynki (Harvest) festival is a tradition that dates back for many centuries. This is a feast to symbolize the end of harvest for the farmers. It's a celebration of happiness, good food, folk dancing, live music and Polish customs and traditions.




August 20th Discover/Prayer Bus Tour

This tour was designed to expose those interested to a side of Spring Branch they may not have seen before. This tour travels all over the Spring Branch area allowing the "tourists" to see how diverse Spring Branch is as well as to see how areas of New Development are changing the face of Spring Branch.



August 4th Meaningful Mosaics Workshop

Meaningful Mosaics was led by Art Instructor Laura Sprague. The workshop was started with an explanation of what the mosaics symbolized about our relationship with Christ and ended with every mosaic being photographed and all were beautiful.



Online Registration for Summer Classes

Began with the Summer and ended on August 19th. The purpose of the classes was to continue enriching the artistic talents of Spring Branch Students.



July 29th Art Teacher Appreciation Workshop

on July 29th, Newspring hosted an Art Teacher Appreciation Workshop that was very successful with over 20 people in attendance. The workshop was led by Carol Andrews Jensen who demonstrated a technique on how to create beautiful and fun abstract pieces using magazines, everyday items such as leaves and corrugated paper, and Citrasolv.

Gift Card Ceremony

The Gift Card Ceremony, hosted at the Newspring Student Art Studio, was the culmination of the year-long Newspring Visual Arts Program. The ceremony came at the conclusion of the Annual Newspring Student Art Auction which granted Spring Branch ISD Students the chance to create a piece of art they can be proud of and reap the benefit of selling the piece at an auction held in an actual art gallery, Sculptures By Design in CITYCENTRE. 100% of the proceeds collected from the sale of the student art was awarded back to the students at this ceremony in the form of gift cards or checks to be deposited into savings accounts for college.



2011 Student Art Auction

The fourth Annual Student Art Auction was a huge success, raising over $14,000 for the students involved. It was held at Sculptures By Design in CITYCENTRE, allowing the students a chance to see their art hung in a real art gallery and their parents to see that their child's art is more than just something to be hung on their refrigerator, but rather something beautiful that can provide income for their child.

The first Newspring business forum was a huge success. Jim Rohr delivered a presentation to over twenty small business owners which were able to collaborate through a breakout session following lunch. Special thanks to Bank of America for helping facilitate the first business roundtable.
