After careful and prayerful consideration, the NewSpring Board of Directors made the difficult decision to cease the operations and transfer the art programs of NewSpring to Cornerstone Family Ministries effective December 31, 2024.

We are pleased to announce that:

  • Cornerstone Family Ministries will offer after school art programs in 2025 in locations and dates to be announced next year. Check their website for more information www.cfmhouston.org
  • The current scholarship program will be administered by Cornerstone Family Ministries for the duration of the current recipients compliance with the guidelines for up to a total of four years.
  • The Flight 25 program will continue under the Chapelwood United Methodist Church Serving Ministries.

Since NewSpring began over 18 years ago, we have continued to provide visuals arts and mentoring programs to inspire underserved students and their families to achieve a better life. We have served many students from elementary school through high school and beyond through our scholarship program. Last year alone we served more than 1,200 students in the Spring Branch area.

We are grateful for all of the support and dedication from the community, donors, funders, volunteers, our staff and board throughout the years. Their support and involvement made possible afterschool and summer art classes, the Student Art Auctions, the Business Plan Competition, the Edge program, Inner Journey and Prayer Breakfasts, the Launch program, Flight 25, the Scholarship Program, and Butterflies that reside throughout the city. Together we made an impact that will continue for years to come.
