This community-based nonprofit organization originated in and remains committed to aiding Houston's students and families through the arts, technology and career exploration. NewSpring is working to shape the future of Houston by helping our youth build the competencies needed to thrive in the 21st century economy. Our program CREATES – Creating Real-life Experiences through Art, Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Scholarship – is led in the Spring Branch region of Houston, where NewSpring was founded and is currently based. We deliver a coherent set of programs for elementary, middle, and high school-aged students living in underserved communities where resources and opportunities are limited.Who We Are

We are professionals, business men and women, artists, teachers and supporters who believe that helping others to create pathways to career and financial opportunity is an important part of our Christian witness.
Our Purpose
NewSpring serves students who live in socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods where they attend underfunded schools with limited academic and extracurricular opportunities. These underserved communities often find themselves in a cycle of intergenerational poverty, where the pursuit of income takes precedence over nurturing creativity and ambitious dreams. NewSpring’s focus on youth is a necessary and proactive approach in addressing these disparities. By providing after-school arts initiatives, technology education, entrepreneurship training, career exploration and scholarship opportunities NewSpring’s initiatives offer students the essential skills required for success in the 21st century. NewSpring’s programs are essential to underserved students, who, due to their circumstances, would otherwise lack the necessary resources to envision and pursue a brighter future. By offering a consistent support system that fosters the values of community, education, creativity, mutual respect, and personal growth, NewSpring actively works to overcome the socioeconomic challenges that perpetuate intergenerational poverty. In doing so, the organization ensures that these students can not only aspire to a brighter future but also acquire the necessary skills and opportunities to turn those aspirations into reality.
